Hi, Elisa. I've just noticed that you had joined my e-College Ning. I have been away for some time due to the distraction of work. I'm sorry that this may have not been the exciting experience you hoped or. That's largely my fault. As…

The revolution starts here - well, it starts for me - well, it's restarting for me - uh, I'm back. Hi, there!

Dang! It's dusty in here. I see that it's still less than a year since I was here last. Anyway, I'm free to return here because I have returned to a lifestyle that works for me. Honestly, that whole nine-to-five grind is just so last century. It was so restrictive. All that clock-watching. I resented doing anything out of hours because it wouldn't be acknowledged. I gave up on all those lovely US webinars because they tended to happen out of hours over here in the Olde Worlde. Now, however, I'm…See More

As the Great Man once said...

'I want to give the audience a hint of a scene. No more than that. Give them too much and they won't contribute anything themselves. Give them just a suggestion and you get them working with you. That's what gives the theater meaning: when it becomes a social act.'

Orson Welles

Apply that to model to learning and you can see it's an expression of what I, and most of you, is trying to do. All over the developed world, there are concerns about the calibre of…

The Perfect SCORM

Now, let me see. Where was I? Better yet, where AM I? I've been that preoccupied over the last couple of days with getting SCORM-compliant quizzes out of Adobe Captivate into Blackboard that I've been in a world of my own. No exaggeration, I've had to check myself when leaving for work to see that I had trousers on.

So, what! Well, it's the crux of what I'm trying to do. There seemed little point of delivering course materials through an LMS if I couldn't keep track of…

Time to clear the cobwebs

Damm, this place got dusty while I've been away. So, let's take stock. I'm not working in a Higher Education Institution any longer but I am the e-Learning Development Manager of a company that provides corporate training. So, that's still relevant.

There are similarities and differences. One of those differences is that my new employer is relying on Blackboard - thanks to me. Don't get me wrong, I don't like Blackboard but I have to concede it's easier to sell the idea to…

Listen up, this is the future talking

I have been becoming convinced that the current upheaval is an opportunity to do some house-cleaning. The shenanigans of finance moguls will hopefully cause some serious soul-searching - regrettably the least chance of that happening with the fools who caused this. We who have been living in those fools' paradise financed by their fools' gold have to fix things.

Returning to form is not the way to do things. We have seen that even when there was an abundance that investment in…
